Natural Healing Wins Again!!!! 01/25/2012
Ok...so I had the lovely symptoms of a cold creeping up on me. You know what I mean-the stuffy nose and headache coupled with a draining fatigue. So, I busted out a cloth and poured 10 drops of Eucalyptus essential oil and 10 drops of Rosemary essential oil and kept breathing it in everywhere I went. I even took it to bed. They both opened me up and the Rosemary killed off the germs that causes infection. I also took on two classes of yoga and now it is gone before it even really started. Many people would've headed straight for the over the counter meds and would've experienced a full outbreak. So now you know the secret. Try it the next time you feel something creeping up on you. You'll be so glad that you did! PS-also pour 7-10 drops of Rosemary essential oil on a cloth and clean around areas that most people touch around the home like door knobs and such. This will keep things from spreading. Many blessings for a healthy day to you! Add Comment I'm stepping into the new year with a desire to make this year of my life the best ever. It's Destination Manifestation for me! That means that this is the year of total healing and wellness. This is the year of action, the year of manifesting my dreams. Hopefully, the following tips will encourage and inspire you to begin taking your own steps towards change and making 2012 an unforgettable year. Enjoy what I've written below... The Life Coaching Daily Inventory The questions below were created to help you see your life more clearly and view things from a new perspective. I suggest that you write the questions on note cards that you carry with you throughout the day. You can also write them in a journal and refer to them in the morning and at night. When you see old patterns, thoughts, or behaviors emerging, take a moment to think about the inventory questions, which will allow yourself to refocus and reflect upon where your priorities lie at the moment. 1. What would I do if I could not fail? This is a question that I’m sure you’ve heard time and again over the years. However, if really taken literally and applied to your life, you would see dramatic differences. Fear is a state of mind, and states of mind can always be changed. So remember, dream big and bold dreams. Then take baby steps to make them happen. 2. What am I settling for in my life? Think about all the things in your life that you “put up” with. Most of the time we are just hoping things will get better on their own, so we settle. Consider your job, your friendships, your relationships, or anything else that might drain your energies and spirit. Unfortunately, it often takes those times when things have gotten so unacceptable that you realize something must be done, and it must be done right away. Why wait? Decide today that you value yourself too much to settle any longer. Then take baby steps to get away from that which no longer serves your best interest. 3. Who am I becoming? There is a quote by a woman, Lynn Hall, who said, “We did not change as we grew older, we just became more clearly ourselves.” That means that who you are today is a reflection of all the choices that you’ve made throughout your life. Remember, you always have the choice to become the person you want to be, and it doesn’t matter how far you’ve fallen down. You can set a positive future now by making small choices daily that take you closer to joy and fulfillment. 4. What am I doing right now to honor my true and inner values? Anna Quindler says, “If your success is not on your own terms, if it looks good to the world, but does not feel good in your heart, it is not success at all.” It is important that you identify your core values, the things that you deem most important in your life, as your values are the true essence of who you really are. Living your life in tune with your values brings harmony. Make a collage of what you value in life. Look at it often and then seek to live a life of integrity that is committed to the person that you really are inside. 5. What is my legacy? Gandhi said, “Be the change you want to see in the world.” A legacy isn’t something that is done after death. Creating a legacy is based on what you contribute while you are still walking this Earth. You can create a legacy everyday by doing small, simple acts of kindness to those in your life and those who are blessed to cross your path. Keep your eyes and heart open each day and look for ways that you can let your inner light shine. 6. What am I holding onto that I no longer need? Think about all of the things that you have in your life that you no longer need. It can be clothing, books, music, movies, but most importantly, belief patterns and old habits that are destructive and no longer serve your highest good. It’s now time to make some goals and take baby steps to remove those things. 7. What one thing would I change for the better? This change can be something as big as limiting your alcohol consumption or to stop drinking soda. It can be any kind of change that will make your life better. Think about it; what change could you make that would create the most impact upon your life? What’s been stopping you from making that change? Choose today to start taking baby steps toward making those changes for the better. 8. How am I using my gifts to help myself and others? Everyone has talents that are unique to them. You can have two painters that are given the same subject to paint, but there will be two different variations when the painting is complete. It is our responsibility to use our talents in every way possible and to use our talents to inspire and bring light to others. Reflect upon how you are using your gifts to benefit those in your life and humanity. Using our gifts gives us purpose and creates a desire within to strive for more. Look for opportunities in your life where you can let your gifts shine. This is one key to happiness and change. 9. Where do I focus my attention? Oprah Winfrey once said, “Energy is the essence of life. Every day you decide how you’re going to use it by knowing what you want and what it takes to reach that goal, and by maintaining focus.” Take a few moments to reflect upon the thoughts that mostly consume your mind each day. Do you spend most of your time complaining about how bad your life is, thinking pessimistic thoughts, and waiting on the next disaster to happen? If so, whenever you notice a pessimistic thought arise, immediately replace it with the exact positive opposite. Visualize your goals as if they have already occurred and continue to take steps toward becoming the amazing person that you were meant to be. 10. How much time do I spend with people who inspire me? Who you surround yourself with will often times make you the person that you become. If you are around negative, self-centered people all the time, then you will most likely soak up some of their energy and begin to demonstrate some of those qualities yourself. It reminds me of a job I once had. Everyone in the place was always negative and drained in spirit. I did a good job at deflecting their energy by choosing positive thoughts and making myself a light in that place. However, a new woman started. She was shy, but positive, gentle and kind. I then noticed that as the weeks passed, so did her attitude. She began to soak in the energy of the people in her environment. Choose today to surround yourself with people that inspire and uplift you. Make a commitment to yourself that you will develop a support network of people who will be the lights in your life and those who will be a source of power and joy, instead of negativity. Make a commitment to yourself to employ the techniques above and create positive change in your life now! Remember, you weren't born to settle. No, you were born to SOAR! The Five Stages to Change 05/03/2010
Let's face it, we all can improve on something in our lives. It can be a drastic change, like overcoming addicition or something as simple as waking up a few minutes earlier for better time management. Follow the steps below to start making the changes that you want to make in your life...and remember, YOU CAN DO IT! Step One: AWARENESS. Becoming aware of the thoughts, feelings, and actions that are holding you back is the first step to making a change. Step Two: ACTION. Action is the actual taking of the first step towards change. It is the stage that allows you to research the things that you need to do in order to see the change actualize. It lays the foundation, giving you direction as to what your next right action will be. Then you take that knowledge and take action. Step Three: ASSIMILATION. This is the stage where you begin to merge your old beliefs and actions into your new aspirations. It is a stage of growth and integration. You see your desires are within reach and you are on your way there. Step Four: ACCEPTANCE. This stage is exactly what is stated. It means that you accept yourself for the progress you've made and accepting yourself for any slips that may've come along the way. If ever you fall back when you are in the process of change, simply acknowledge your "relaspe" and start over. Slipping back into your old ways are actually a part of the process to ultimate change. There is a great saying that comes to mind when I think of this, "I may not be where I want to be, but thank God I'm not where I used to be!" Step Five: ACTUALIZATION. This is the most beautiful part of change, the realization that you have made it, that you have stepped into the reality that you desired to create, that you have reached your goals and climbed the mountain to success. Now make a list of the things that you wish to improve upon. Apply these simple steps and watch yourself bloom into the person you were created to be! Questions to Ponder... 04/09/2010
Ok, I've finally taken the time to turn my notes from the other day into questions to ponder and give you something to think about. So here goes... ***What is it that you wish you were doing right now that you are not doing? Now take at least one baby step to make it happen. ***Whatever you concentrate on increases. When you concentrate on lack, debt, conflict, or negativity, the lack, debt, conflict, and negativity in your life will continue to increase. Be grateful for what you do have, even the simple things that most people take for granted. Then you will see the good in your life increase. So, ask yourself today: "What am I concentrating on?" Words of Wisdom 04/06/2010
I was listening to Hay House Radio today and heard a wealth of empowering, and much needed, words of inspiration. Some of the speakers were a little out there, but I listened on and found a lot of nuggets of truth. I took notes and added my own stuff. Here are some of my findings... ***When you maintain that constant connection with Spirit, your life just flourishes in every way. You live a life of total abundance and joy. Without this connection, you simply do not thrive. To truly live is to walk with Spirit daily. ***Remind yourself of this...When I'm worried I'm in the process of creating. I must then move my thoughts from worry to hope and then whatever I need will be provided. Letting go of worry is stepping out in faith and knowing that all is well and will be taken care of perfectly. Remember-you are in good hands! This is something that I've really been struggling with, but I really calmed myself down today by coming back to this thought over and over. ***Surrender to the outcome and know that whatever happens is in your best interest. When you are in a state of surrender you are in a space where God can move. It is in those moments that you witness the gift of God's miracles. Ok, I'll be adding more stuff tomorrow. I'm turning my notes into applications, questions to ponder, actions to take. Until then...Create yourself a blessed day. Using and Relinquishing Negativity 04/05/2010
Adapted from Practicing the Power of Now: Essential Teachings, Meditations, and Exercises from The Power of Now (p. 108–112) Try This · Whenever you feel negativity arising within you, whether caused by an external factor, a thought or even nothing in particular that you are aware of, look on it as a voice saying, "Attention. Here and now. Wake up. Get out of your mind. Be present." · Feel yourself becoming transparent, without the solidity of a material body. Now allow whatever you are reacting negatively to—the noise of the car alarm, the dog barking, the traffic jam—to pass right through you. It is no longer hitting a solid "wall" inside you. · Become like a deep lake. The outer situation of your life, whatever happens there is like the surface of the lake—sometimes calm, sometimes windy and rough. Deep down, however, the lake is always undisturbed. You are the whole lake, not just the surface. Practice being in touch with your own depth, which remains absolutely still. A Love Letter Especially for You... 04/05/2010
All beautiful you are, my darling There is no flaw in you. Song of Songs 4:7 Journal to Wellness: Springboards 04/04/2010
Springboards are simple statements, words, or questions that help you to clarify your thoughts and launch into writing. Springboards can also help you tap into your inner wisdom and listen to the voice of spirit. Write one of the following springboards at the top of a page in your journal and write non-stop for 15 minutes. Do not worry about punctuation or correct spelling. Just let it flow! What is my next right action? What holds me back from my highest good? I regret that I... What am I avoiding? What would I do if I could not fail? What is my heart's desire? Why do I feel...? My next step is... If I spoke my truth I would say... I feel most at peace when... How did I overcome (an obstacle)? If money were no object, I would... The best time of my life was... What does my spirit tell me to do right now? If I could have it my way, how would my life look like right now? What does my life look like in 10 years? What is my biggest dream? True Joy comes from the heart. It arises when our mind, body, and spirit are aligned in unity. The following exercise will help you to relax and balance the heart and mind. It is very powerful for the Reiki practitioner, but is all helpful to all who practice. This is a relaxing treatment and opens the heart energy center. Stay in each position for 3-5 minutes. This will only take 15-25 minutes. You deserve to devote that little bit of time to nourishing your soul and body. It might help you to prepare the room first with candles, sage, incense, music, essential oil, or open a window so that the singing of birds outside can be heard. 1. Lie down or sit comfortably in a chair and close your eyes. Place your hands on your thighs. Take a deep breath. Hold it for as long as you can and then let it out with a sigh. Relax your shoulders and body. 2. Cross your arms, placing your right hand in your left armpit and your left hand in your right armpit. Focus your attention on the center of your chest. Continue to breathe deeply and allow a feeling of peace and relaxation to come. 3. Place your hands on your cheekbones so that the fingers cover the eyes. Breath in and exhale the sound, "Yaa-hum."You will feel the vibration of the sound resonating in your heart center. Do this for 3-5 minutes. Simply take deep, cleansing breaths if you feel uncomfortable speaking aloud. 4. Place your hands on your chest, on the left and right side with fingertips touching. This balances the left and right hemispheres of the body. 5. Place hands on the abdomen with one hand resting above the navel and the other below. Allow the energy to expand. Relax in this position as you take deep cleansing breaths. 6. Open your eyes when you are ready. Take this calm out into the world. All is well...
