Natural Healing Wins Again Part 2! Aromatherapy and Pink Eye 02/24/2012

My daughter recently caught a case of pink eye, also known as Conjunctivitis, in the medical community. Being the aromatherapist that I am, I first sought out my essential oils and herbs for a natural cure in the hopes that I didn't have to make a mad dash to the med-stop. I employed my knowledge as an aromatherapist and healed my daughter (along with the help of my essential oils) of her infection without pharmaceutical antibiotic treatment. Here is the secret...

Pull out/buy a box of Chamomile tea. Meanwhile, drop (1) drop of rose/rose absolute oil, (1) drop of lavender oil, (1) drop of tea tree oil, and (1) drop of chamomile oil into a bowl of cold water. Put one  chamomile teabag into the mix and stir it around in the water. Wring out the teabag and place on the infected eye. Let it rest on the eye for ten minutes. Massage your child's arms and hands as the time passes for an extra special treat. Repeat twice a day and you should see the healing take place before your eyes. It took us two days of treatment before it was eliminated.

You can also use the method above with a wash cloth to create a cold compress and rest it on the eye.

I also dropped the same oils above into a teaspoon of Sweet Almond Oil and gently rubbed it on the bones around her eye. Do not get the oils very near or in the eye, as stinging will result.

This worked for me, but this information is not meant to replace the advice of a medical professional. Especially seek medical care if your child is experiencing a thick, yellow discharge from the eye, as this can denote a severe case of Conjunctivitis which will need an antibiotic. However, the above measures can be used in conjunction with allopathic medical care and can allow for a faster recovery.

Natural Healing Wins Again!!!! 01/25/2012

Ok...so I had the lovely symptoms of a cold creeping up on me. You know what I mean-the stuffy nose and headache coupled with a draining fatigue. So, I busted out a cloth and poured 10 drops of Eucalyptus essential oil and 10 drops of Rosemary essential oil and kept breathing it in everywhere I went. I even took it to bed. They both opened me up and the Rosemary killed off the germs that causes infection. I also took on two classes of yoga and now it is gone before it even really started. Many people would've headed straight for the over the counter meds and would've experienced a full outbreak. So now you know the secret. Try it the next time you feel something creeping up on you. You'll be so glad that you did! PS-also pour 7-10 drops of Rosemary essential oil on a cloth and clean around areas that most people touch around the home like door knobs and such. This will keep things from spreading. Many blessings for a healthy day to you!

The Joy of Life Meditation 04/04/2010

True Joy comes from the heart. It arises when our mind, body, and spirit are aligned in unity. The following exercise will help you to relax and balance the heart and mind. It is very powerful for the Reiki practitioner, but is all helpful to all who practice.

This is a relaxing treatment and opens the heart energy center. Stay in each position for 3-5 minutes. This will only take 15-25 minutes. You deserve to devote that little bit of time to nourishing your soul and body. It might help you to prepare the room first with candles, sage, incense, music, essential oil, or open a window so that the singing of birds outside can be heard.

1. Lie down or sit comfortably in a chair and close your eyes. Place your hands on your thighs. Take a deep breath. Hold it for as long as you can and then let it out with a sigh. Relax your shoulders and body.

2. Cross your arms, placing your right hand in your left armpit and your left hand in your right armpit. Focus your attention on the center of your chest. Continue to breathe deeply and allow a feeling of peace and
relaxation to come.

3. Place your hands on your cheekbones so that the fingers cover the eyes. Breath in and exhale the sound, "Yaa-hum."
You will feel the vibration of the sound resonating in your heart center. Do this for 3-5 minutes. Simply take deep, cleansing breaths if you feel uncomfortable speaking aloud.

4. Place your hands on your chest, on the left and right side with fingertips touching. This balances the left and right hemispheres of the body.

5. Place hands on the abdomen with one
hand resting above the navel and the other below. Allow the energy to expand. Relax in this position as you take deep cleansing breaths.

6. Open your eyes when you are ready. Take this calm out into the world. All is well...
